What is a CSI license?

A CSI license allows a person to conduct customer service inspections on private water systems for the purpose of providing or denying water service. The inspection is limited to the identification and prevention of cross-connections, potential contaminant hazards, and illegal lead materials.

Education

  • Requires 16 hours of continuing education

Renewal

  • CSI license must be renewed every 3 yrs
  • Complete continuing education prior to expiration
  • Submit renewal application & criminal history

Legal Notice

Pursuant to H.B No. 1508, Brazos Valley Water Protection hereby informs you that:

  • Specific criminal history can negatively impact or determine a person's eligibility to receive or renew an occupational license from TCEQ. Completing courses provided by Brazos Valley Water Protection in no way guarantees a person's eligibility to test for, be awarded or to renew an occupational license.
  • TCEQ RG-521 contains the current guidelines that outline the consequences of having criminal convictions on your ability to obtain and hold and occupational license.
  • Other guidance on occupational license denials, warnings, suspensions or revocations is provided to the TCEQ in 30 Tex. Admin. Code ยง 30.33.
  • For those with any felony or misdemeanor convictions or deferred adjudications, please contact TCEQ Licensing Division for more information regarding a criminal history evaluation letter.

If you have failed to consult with the TCEQ or exercise your rights for review prior to this course, and are determined later to be ineligible for a license due to criminal history, you are not entitled to any refund or reimbursement by Brazos Valley Water Protection for course costs, fees associated with application or license, travel expenses or any other incidental expenses associated with attending this course.
