BPAT Troubleshooting & Repair

This is a TCEQ approved course providing 16 hours of continuing education for the BPAT license. Material will be presented through classroom instruction, instructor demonstration, as well as instructor lead hands-on training. Copies of the USC 10th edition Manual of Cross-Connection Control will be available for use during class.

This course will begin with a brief overview of state and local codes and regulations. Students will review and practice the assessment of installations, proper operation, troubleshooting and repair procedures for various backflow prevention assemblies. Specialty tools will be available for demonstration. Students will have the opportunity to disassemble and assemble various types and sizes of backflow assemblies up to 6”.

  • Students may bring their own personal test kit if desired
  • Students need to bring a valid government issued photo ID

  • Students must attend the entire course in order to receive credit
  • Class Times will be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Rescheduling & Cancellations

  • Course enrollments can be transferred to another class if requested more than 5 business days prior to original course start date, and is subject to availability.
  • Courses can be rescheduled 1 time for no fee if requested 5 business day or more prior to start date.
  • Any cancellation requested within 5 business days prior to class, will only receive a 50% refund of that course price.
  • Students who "no-show" to any course will not be entitled to any refund, transfer or reschedule for that course.

  • For those with any felony or misdemeanor convictions or deferred adjudications, please contact TCEQ Licensing Division for more information regarding a criminal history evaluation letter.

If you have failed to consult with the TCEQ or exercise your rights for review prior to this course, and are determined later to be ineligible for a license due to criminal history, you are not entitled to any refund or reimbursement by Brazos Valley Water Protection for course costs, fees associated with application or license, travel expenses or any other incidental expenses associated with attending this course.
